What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure and function, and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.
How Does Chiropractic Work?
At Laurel Street Chiropractic and Spa, our doctors look at the whole person and seek the origin of the problem. We consult, review the case history, conduct a physical, orthopedic and neurological examination, and/or x-rays. A careful analysis of the patient's structure is conducted and particular attention is given to the spine. We also ask you questions about your life: Do you eat well? Exercise at all? How do you deal with stress?
Our doctors will help to restore proper spinal biomechanics and improved nervous system function by removing subluxations (interferences) to your nervous system that can irritate or impair function. This is achieved by a spinal adjustment, which is a safe and natural procedure.
